Bake Sale Success!

THANK YOU TO OUR AWESOME COMMUNITY!

We weren't quite expecting Tel to qualify for Nationals.  Hence, we weren't 100% prepared.  So, our cute nieces decided to host a bake sale for Tel.  We sold everything from my 'decent' bread to Grandma's 'awesome' bread, peanut butter blossoms, cinnamon rings, cupcakes and more.  The sale was a huge success...We almost sold every stinkin' thing!

I can't even begin to tell, you, my blogging friends how impressed and appreciative I am for all the support he received.  Sometimes living in a small area can be... "funny" ... people know all of your 'biz' and even have the gumption to ask what you pay for your cars, house, rodeos, horses, clothes, purses, etc.  But, one great thing about this little community is the amazing amount of support they shower on the kids in the community!

I couldn't even begin to explain how thankful I am.  And how impressed.  And how glad I am to live here!  So, THANK YOU to everyone who has participated and helped Tel along the way.  We're so thankful to all of you!

He Made It!

He Made It!  They Made It!

Wonder why I've been somewhat absent from blogging!?!  Well, we've been preparing for a week long trip to Nationals in Gallup, New Mexico!  Tel made it to the Jr. High Finals in tie-down roping!

I'm so proud of this little boy - He's wanted to be a calf roper for as long as I can remember.  He admitted, he even dreams about it when he's sleeping.  He's begged us and begged us for a calf roping horse, but as many of you know, calf horses are pricey.  With the help of two really great family friends, Tel's 'rodeo' horse is working well enough for Tel to calf rope on.  (As in, the horse finally stays back!)  And, he made it to Nationals!  I balled like a baby!  He practices his tail off every day after work and has improved so much in one years time.  As a Momma, watching your kids become successful at something is even better than becoming successful yourself.

Who's that cute little girl in the picture?  Our neighbor and "Joel the Cowboy's" big sister, Jaylynn.  She's also going in barrel racing.  We're so excited for our upcoming weekend!

Piano Sunday

Tanzee and I started taking piano lessons this last fall. Tanzee participated in her first piano recital two weeks ago. I'm so proud of her, she walked up to the stage, introduced herself and her piece clearly, sat up straight and played without one missed key.

Great Job Sister!

We Love You to the Moon and Back!

'Tis Was A Beautiful Mother's Day

Note to all readers:  I love my son too, but I don't have a picture with him on Sunday because he's 14 and too cool for school and pictures!

After church on Sunday morning we went to Olive Garden with the kids and ate our little hearts out.  Probably, at least, maybe 5,000 calories or so.  No biggie.  You know, appetizers, smoothies, bread sticks, salad, Italian cuisine and then, of course, chocolate cake!  Yummy!

I declare, I have the best family - I started the morning with a card and beautiful Calla Lily plant from my husband.  One question, does anyone know how to care for Calla Lilly plants?

When we picked the kids up from their Mom's in the afternoon, she had given them an awesome Pampered Chef stoneware dish to give me.  I so appreciate it and that she acknowledges me as a mother too.  Our friendship is growing over time and I'm proud to say we are two mother's who share the same children and get along pretty darn well.  It's an accomplishment, one that makes our children happy.

After returning from town, the kids were so excited to give me another gift; A Babycakes, Cake Pop Maker in Purple!  My favorite color and I love, love, love to bake and I love, love, love to buy cake pops from Starbucks!

My Mother's Day was like Christmas!  How lucky am I!?!

Moving on, my last question for the day, I'm having tons of trouble with the template designer and my blog background.  Does anyone know how to fix this problem?  And, does anyone know how to design your own picture template for the top of your blog?

The Gals on the Ground

As I mentioned in my last post, we spent our weekend branding with our brother and sister-in-law.  If you're wondering if us gals just sat around,

And Baked...

And Ate...

And Supervised...

And Supervised Some More...

Well, you're wrong, those boys, they needed us - I know it.

Shelley made sure all of the calves were branded correctly,

Tanzee was our resident nurse and gave many of the shots,

Along with Kandace,

And myself.
I promise you, no one can love on a set of calves better than a crew of women.

From L to R:  Sister Shelley, Myself, Niece Kandace
And, of course, Tanzee!

What a FUN weekend us gals had!
